Julien’s Auctions Brings More Industry Experts Aboard

After many successful and historically significant sales—including a new world record—“auction house to the stars” and WorthPoint Industry Partner Julien’s Auctions has announced recent changes that will strengthen its position and allow the business to continue its record growth.

This dress, worn by Princess Diana, went for a record-breaking $1.14 million at auction, making it the most expensive dress ever worn by the princess. Julien’s Auctions has added to its senior leadership team and expects to grow the company globally.

According to a recent press release, Julien’s will officially welcome three new industry experts who will lead new initiatives with co-founders Darren Julien and Martin Nolan to expand the company’s reach. Since May 2023, David Goodman, former Global Chief Marketing Office for Sotheby’s, Laura Woolley, Antiques Roadshow expert appraiser, and Erica Ollwerther, senior digital product executive, have worked with Julien’s to develop strategies for new products and services and greater opportunities for bidders and consigners.

The press release also detailed the roles each will have at the company. David Goodman will serve as the CEO, while Woolley is the new Managing Director and Head of Consignments & Appraisals, and Ollwerther is now the Managing Director and Head of Client Experience and Digital Transformation.

Nolan told WorthPoint that while officially having Goodman, Woolley, and Ollwerther on board is a big change, he and co-founder Darren Julien will still be fully involved.

“While change can sometimes be daunting, we want to assure you that our core values and dedication to serving our clients remain unwavering. Both of us are as involved as ever in every aspect of working with clients, advising on the operations, and ensuring that we deliver unparalleled service and exceptional results,” Nolan remarked.

Nolan also revealed how the move will help the company meet demand not just in the US but also in Asia and Europe. “The items we are selling are not just a nostalgic reminder of our youth but are now considered an asset class likely to appreciate in value in years to come.”

Julien’s is also working with Geller, a wealth management firm that provides financial advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and their families, businesses, and nonprofit institutions. Geller’s investment in Julien’s will be a catalyst for driving growth.

Darren Julien said in the press release, “With this extremely talented team on board, I am more excited than ever about the future of Julien’s.”
