You are bidding on a ART NOUVEAU COLLECTIBLE! HANDCRAFTED, FLEMISH RECTANGULAR, WOODEN BOX in amazing, excellent condition! The underside of the box is marked: FLEMISH 681 This is a lovely Flemish, handcrafted wooden box, also called glove box, made from light wood, most likely Balsa wood or similar. It weighs only 9.9 oz.! It is rectangular, the lid has 2 hinges, it closes with a brass clasp. The box features a hand-carved floral motif. The inside has a red, gently used, silky lining, which also covers the hinges. This highly collectible box is in excellent condition for its age, dating from the early 1900's or older. It has no cracks, no chips, the corners are straight. It is just beautiful! IT SHOWS GREAT CRAFTSMANSHIP! The hinges are perfect, it closes normally, the clasp closes perfectly. This Flemish wooden box measures 11 1/2" long x 4 1/4" wide x 2 1/2" high. It weighs only 9.9 oz., before the wrapping. It is ready for immediate use, gift-giving or display!
