Art Nouveau hand painted glass hanging lamp with brass fixtures and porcelain bulb socket. This lamp is from Sweden, and dates from about 1910. Its in very good condition, and the glass is perfect as is the paint on the glass. The brass can stand a good polishing, however I prefer the existing patina. The glass is frosted, with enamel fired on paint depicting green vines and flowers. This is a rare, Art Nouveau hanging lamp. Its the real thing and almost 100 years old! Go to Home Depot and see what a new, Chinese repro costs, and do the math! This is a real piece of history, and is BEAUTIFUL, hand crafted and timeless! The electric has been reworked, so its ready to hang and light! Just clip the plug that is pictured, (European hanging lamp junction boxes have a receptacle in place, so you plug ceiling lamps in) strip some wire and wire nut it in place and turn it on! It works!T is a hook holder so that you can have a swag hook hold it in place, and wire it in to get it going...I do it all the time and its really easy. The length of the hang (distance from ceiling to the actual lamp) can be adjusted by shortening the cord.Dont miss this one! If you are renovating a house, are a dealer or are looking for the perfect period piece to jazz up the digs, this is your lamp!Happy bidding and good luck!DZ
