Part of a Recent Manhattan Estate Purchase included among other items a large collection of vintage books whose focus is the Far East. These books explore the culture, politics, language and religion of Tibet, China, Mongolia, Japan etc. This auction is for a RARE 1st. edition of "ENGLAND, INDIA, NEPAL, TIBET, CHINA 1765-1958" by Margaret W. Fischer & Leo E. Rose published by University of California Press Berkeley in 1959. The blue cloth boards have gilt titles on the spine . There is no interior writing or bookplate. The Sub-title of this book is "A SYNCHRONISTIC TABLE SHOWING THE SUCCESSION OF HEADS OF STATE AND OTHER POLITICAL AND DIPLOMATIC PERSONAGES OF IMPORTANCE IN THESE COUNTRIES, ALONG WITH NEPALI TRIBUTARY MISSIONS TO CHINA, FROM THE MID-EIGHTEENTH TO THE MID-TWENTIETH CENTURY". This oblong book measures about 18"x 9". Both boards and text are in excellent condition. This auction is starting at $19.99 with no reserve.
