An uncommon World War II July 29, 1942 US Coast Guard Honolulu , Hawaii ID card. The card came from the estate of a WWII Coast Guard veteran. I do not know if the veteran was in the Coast Guard when this Hawaii ID card was issued as his occupation on the card is Architectural Draftsman. The card states in part "TERRITORY OF HAWAII IDENTIFICATION CERTIFICATE, ISSUED JUL 29, 1942, MR. HERBERT JOSEPH WITTMAN, 2142 KUHIO AVENUE, WHOSE SIGNATUE AND FINGERPRINTS APPEAR ON HAS BEEN DULY REGISTERED AND IDENTIFIED UNDER THE HAWAIIAN DEFENSE ACT. GAS MASK ISSUED , YOU ARE BY LAW REQUIRED TO CARRY THIS CARD ON YOUR PERSON AT ALL TIMES". The folding cardboard card is 4 x 2 ½ inches in size when closed and has some normal wear but looks nice. Please see the other vintage items that I have listed on eBay. The buyer pays postage. Payment by Check, money order or PayPal is OK. Thank for looking.
