Ogden, Publisher 1877 Soft cover - Measures- 6" x 9 " - 177 Pages + 15 pages local period advertising at back Sketches and anecdotes of the "Old Settlers" of Iowa and it's borders- most of which have come from personal observation. Those incidents which happened before our time, we have from the Old Settlers themselves... Illustrations of: "Joe Smith" the Mormon Prophet in full uniform, Old Keokuk with his son at his feet, and Black Hawk- the War Chief of the Sacs and Foxes. Covers are loose, several of the bound sections have separated from eachother, and there is no spine. The first and last few pages have the roughest edges, but all pages are intact, and easily readable.
