Works like an Etch-A-Sketch, but much better! Your child can create continuous patterns across a globe's surface. By playing with it, your child will learn concepts of spherical geometry, like why horizontal lines (latitude) stay parallel, but vertical lines (longitude) converge, yet the angles between these lines remain 90 degrees! The left knob controls the longitude and the right knob controls the latitude of the "pen". Comes with a built-in 360 degree protractor for precise positioning of lines. Also has an on/off switch for the "pen" so that your child can lift the pen. This is a big improvement over the Etch A Sketch! To erase, turn upside down and shake. Measures 7-1/2 inches (19 cm) across the base.
