This auction is for one natural, rough piece of the very rare "Lost" Blue agate from Prineville Oregon. Finally Central Oregon can boast a gem quality blue agate! 3" x 1 1/2" x 3/4" , 68.5 grams! Rare limb cast specimen!! Great wood bark texture on the back side. Beautiful bright periwinkle blue in color!! Leave this one rough as a rare blue specimen!! Northwestern blue agate is very rare, spendy, and a treat for any jeweler. An Ellensburg of this size and quality would be running you hundreds!! As stories go nobody really knew w or even had a piece in t collection........Two young Rockhounds were willing to take up the challenge........ After a point in the right direction and a year of prospecting on foot with out finding a speck........... finally a blue nodule was stumbled upon! This led to the find of a very small deposit of blue agate hidden deep in Central Oregon. Many miles from any roads, all the material gatd is packed out on foot. Dodging couger and rattlesnakes the entire way of course.
